From Quil to CoRecruit: The Next Chapter

Hi everyone,

I’m incredibly excited to share this news today. It’s a turning point in our journey, so I wanted to outline what this means for our future directly from me.

When Jordan and I started this journey, we did so with a single, simple pain point in mind: Notetaking was getting in the way of recruiters being present on calls. We originally chose the name Quil because it represented the core solution we provided (symbolized by a magic pen). It has served us well and is now a recognizable brand in the RecTech space.

Since our launch in 2023, we have grown exponentially. More importantly, we've spent thousands of hours talking to recruitment agencies, learning how they use our platform. This led us to three important realizations.

First, a note-taking tool was just a small part of how our customers that generate the most placements use our solution. They don’t just have us automate notetaking; they use us as their partner so they can focus entirely on building human relationships, while we work silently in the background. However, the name Quil doesn’t portray more than notetaking.

Second, our customers LOVE that we build products that are exclusively for them! If someone at a recruitment agency provide product feedback, we move it to the top of the list for product improvements. When we come across real estate agents or in house recruiting teams we politely recommend other solutions and disregard any feedback given.

We don’t pretend to build for recruiting agencies; we actually do. Visit any page on our website and you'll see that every single one is talking right to recruitment agencies. Unlike others, we don't create pages targeting dozens of other verticals as a marketing gimmick.

Finally (and I'm being totally honest here), there was a tactical reason here as well. A company's name isn't doing its job if people can't actually find what they're looking for when they search it up. And we saw this a lot - even with customers that have used us for two years. We got all kinds of iterations on our name, though most often it was "Quill" with two Ls.  That was a problem: it meant that recruiters who would genuinely benefit from our platform might not be able to find us.

That is why Quil is becoming CoRecruit.

Why CoRecruit? The story behind our name change

We believe that recruiting will always be about human judgment, empathy, and a level of intuition that a machine will never possess. AI shouldn't do your job. It can't. But it should absolutely handle the busywork that distracts you from it.

Our team feels strongly that the name "CoRecruit" represents our beliefs much more strongly (and solves the spelling problem).

The "Co" represents Collaboration. It represents our transition from being a simple AI tool that takes your interview notes to a platform designed to be your recruiting agency’s intelligent assistant. Of course it can handle notetaking on any call or device, but it can also create your follow-up materials, candidate submittals, and help you improve team performance.

We believe AI should be invisible; it should be the support system that allows you to be more human, not less.

What this transition means for you

The best part about our rebrand is that that nothing about your current experience with our platform will change. You’ll see a new logo and a fresh URL, yes. But your workflow remains the same. However, this rebrand marks a fundamental shift in how we serve you with four new feature launches:

WhatsApp AI Note taking integrated with your ATS/CRM! This is going to be game changing for teams that do a lot of international recruiting. Goodbye post call admin work!

Botless AI note taking for Zoom, Google Meets, MS Teams, etc! Now you don’t have to explain who the other participant is on your video calls which provides a distraction free experience to candidates and clients!

Inbound calls now supported across all phone setups! For users who use their cell phone number with Quil you can now configure us to receive your inbound phone calls so you can have a seamless experience avoiding admin work.

Can purchase or port in VOIP numbers! Amazing for teams that have basic VOIP needs, everyone that purchases our AI Assistant gets a VOIP for free! Yes, you read that right…

We know you didn't get into recruiting to manage databases; you got into it to build human connections and build great companies. Our roadmap is focused on one thing: making the admin work disappear so you can focus on the relationships that matter.

Our purpose: to redefine AI as ‘your’ partner

Our stance on this has always been – and will remain – non-negotiable: AI cannot ever replace the recruiter’s judgment. We aren't building a machine to make decisions; we are building you a partner to handle the logistics.

Every single feature we build must answer a simple question: Does this improve the recruiting experience or is it just more noise? If it doesn’t actively reclaim your time, improve candidate experience, or increase placement quality, it doesn't get built.

This is also why we have developed Botless Technology. We know that high-stakes recruiting requires a white-glove experience. You cannot have a clunky "AI Bot" sitting in a digital meeting room during an executive interview or a client intake call. It’s an unnecessary distraction that doesn’t feel seamless.

CoRecruit is invisible by design. It captures intelligence directly from your preferred channels: Zoom, Teams, WhatsApp, Cell Phone, VOIP, and more without ever interrupting the 1:1 connection.

To us, the best technology is the kind you never have to think about, allowing you to stay entirely present with the person on the other end of the line.

CoRecruit is designed to be the "Intelligence Layer" that ensures:

  • Capture: Regardless where and how you communicate we capture role-specific data for every call type so no detail is missed.
  • Sync: Data maps directly to 40+ ATS platforms (Bullhorn, Vincere, Loxo, etc.). Your conversations flow directly into dropdowns, pick-lists, and activity logs.
  • Deliver: Follow up assets and branded submittals are generated in minutes, not hours.

We are doubling down on features that eliminate "admin drag." When a screen ends, your ATS should reflect reality immediately, and a branded candidate submittal should already be drafted. To us, this standard is what the industry deserves.

Final thoughts: returning to the heart of recruiting

Ultimately, this rebrand is increasing our focus rather than broadening it. We’ve always believed that when recruiting feels human, the results follow. Better placements are made, deeper trust is built, and the entire profession becomes more rewarding.

Our job at CoRecruit is to make sure nothing gets in the way of that human connection. To the early adopters who helped turn the idea of "Quil" into the reality of CoRecruit: thank you for your feedback, your trust, and your partnership.

We’re still the same team, just with a much clearer sense of where we’re headed. We are excited to build the future of this industry with you.

CoRecruit is built to assist you.

Best,

Ryan
